New Procedures for Work First New Jersey Customers During COVID-19 Pandemic
The Atlantic County Department of Family and Community Development continues to suspend all in-person interviews and face-to-face business with its customers who participate in Work First New Jersey programs, including General Assistance (GA), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), as well as Medicaid and Emergency Assistance (EA) programs. Additional Housing Assistance
Visit to see if you are eligible for any of the state's housing assistance programs. These include temporary assistance to households who are being evicted due to a short- term loss of income and temporary financial assistance to help pay for housing and case management and services to maintain housing. There are also programs available to help veterans, low-income families, the elderly, single-parents, and more.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Provides some extra help to pay for food at supermarkets, farmers markets and other approved stores.
Work First New Jersey (WFNJ)
which includes Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and General Assistance (GA).
Provides monthly cash, short-term housing support, child care, job search and readiness.
NJ FamilyCare/Medicaid
Provides free or low-cost health care that may help pay for medical bills, doctor visits and prescriptions for certain low income individuals or families.

Be aware of a scam using texting to obtain your personal information. The text might say you were chosen to receive food stamps or SNAP. If you do not know if a request for information about SNAP is real or not, contact your local SNAP office.
